The day
Lisbon is about three hours from the central Algarve by motorway, across the Alentejo plains and over the Tagus. As a day trip it is a long but rewarding day; with a night in the city it becomes an easy one.
With your own driver you go straight to Belém in the morning, move between neighbourhoods without looking for parking on Lisbon's hills, and sleep on the way home.
