The day
The Alentejo covers about a third of Portugal and makes some of its best-known wines. Its wine-growing areas range from Vidigueira, under two hours from Vilamoura, to Évora and Reguengos de Monsaraz further north.
Winery visits and tastings are usually by appointment. Tell us what you like, whether big reds, whites or a family estate, and we plan the visits, the lunch and the timing, so everyone in the group can taste.

Good to know
- Wineries receive visitors by appointment: book a few days ahead so we can confirm the visits.
- For a shorter day, the Algarve also has its own wineries, around Lagoa and Silves, less than an hour from Vilamoura.
- The Alentejo is hot in summer: spring, autumn and the harvest in September are the best times.

Vidigueira is about 160 km from Vilamoura, under two hours; Évora and Reguengos de Monsaraz are about 215 km, closer to three hours.
